The 'Information Revolution'

1) a) —Do you agree with Briggs and Burke?

Yes, I agree with Briggs and Burke's statement that the Internet is the most important medium of the twentieth century because almost everything is done over the Internet and it is a necessity instead of a luxury these days having the Internet on your laptop, smartphones, consoles even some cars require Internet connection these days. The internet without a doubt is the greatest evolution in human history.

1) b) What does Castells mean by the ‘Information Age’?

The information age is also known as the Digital Age or the New Media Age is the period in

human history where it transitioned from traditional industry to a more industrialised industry and age. The 'Information Age' was formed by the increasing advances on the computing and digital evolution. These advances had a big effect on everyday lifestyle, education and business and has allowed rapid global communication growth and networking to shape modern society.
