The Gutenberg Revolution

1) Illustrate this revolution with THREE examples of how society and its beliefs changed in the 15th/16th centuries?

In the 15th century, Leonardo Da Vinci was drawing designs of parachutes but never actually made one and was considered something that will never actually work, however today parachutes are available everywhere and anyone can get hold of one and throw themselves from 20,000 feet high and open one.

In 1439, the Strasbourg Cathedral reaching 147 meters high however in 2010, Burj Khalifa was completed reaching 830 meters high, people and society around the world, majority the western world doubted the Burj Khalifa would be completed because it's very extraordinary in height and obviously very expensive however for the people in UAE, they are very proud and it is now a touristic attraction rather than a religious monument like the Strasbourg Cathedral in France in 1439.

People in the 15th and 16th century were a lot more religious compared to now which is more secular and the Pope held a political importance as well as his religious leadership which shows how the society and its beliefs changed from 15th/16th century and now where the Pope is still important but doesn't have a strong influence in people around the world and that could be down to the different views and opinions people get from getting information from the Internet because it's become a lot more available these days.
